What you need to know, currently.

The views of Ann Arbor are right out of a snow globe as Wednesday marked the region’s first big snow of the year.

Ann Arbor public school kids had the day off and headed straight to Veterans Park to glide down Ann Arbor’s most popular sledding trail.

Patrick Grammatico brought his 3-year-old grandson to skid down the same hill he had visited in his youth.

“I remember coming here as a kid,” he told Michigan Live. “Today we got here early as another family was leaving and we had the hill all to ourselves."

Commuters braved the weather, snowflakes decorated the skies, hikers climbed higher heights to take in the views, families went on their first-ever sledding trip together, and even college students got in a snowball fight or two.
